Busy Airport
Miami International Airport is one of the busiest airports in the United States. It sees over 20 million passengers coming and going from over 180 cities across the world. There are 90 different airlines operating from the airport and handles around 500,000 passengers in a weeks time. Miami International Airport is located 9 miles northwest of Miami and the terminal alone is 4.7 million square feet. At this time, construction is in progress which will expand the terminal to over 7.4 million square feet when completed. At the Miami International Airport you will find many facilities to accommodate your every need including ATMs, currency exchange, banking services, shops, restaurants, art gallery, pharmacy, health club, shoeshine, and a chapel. It also has porter services, trolleys, and luggage carriers. There are wheelchair accessible restrooms and telephones for the hearing impaired. Shopping at the Miami International airport is as much fun as going to the mall and features a duty free shopping center in concourse E. As long as you have a boarding pass you can shop in this main shopping area. Gift shops are located in Concourses C, E and G. You will find several unique and wonderful souvenirs or gifts to take home to family and friends that missed out on your trip to Miami. Some of the most famous restaurants and bars that can be found at Miami International Airport include Burger King, Pizza Hut Express, La Caretta, Budweiser Brew House and the Baked Potato Cart. You will see restaurants and bars in all the concourses to give you a bite to eat before leaving on your flight or for a quick bite when you first arrive in Miami. If you need an internet connection while you are waiting for your flight to take off, you will be glad to learn that there are several dataport connections throughout the terminal. If you are seeking a post office, for that last minute post card to be sent, you will need to visit Level 4. There you will find all you need for regular and standard postal services. Don’t worry if you need to exchange your money into the correct currency. There are currency exchange facilities at Concourses C and D. There are also several ATM machines located at various points throughout the terminal so you will never need to worry about not having the right amount of cash before you hail the taxi. |
