Miami Seaquarium

One of the main attractions in Miami is the Miami Sea Aquarium. But, if you do not have the entire day to spend from the time they open their doors at 9:30 am until they close their doors at 6pm you are sure to miss out on the fun.

The Flipper Lagoon: Here you will see the dolphins in action; this is where most of the filming was done for the “The Flipper Dolphin Show” which was popular in the 1960’s. The dolphins will perform by jumping, spinning, tailwalking, and flipping all to the beat of awesome music.

Killer Whale and Dolphin Show: This is where you will find the infamous killer whale by the name of Lolita. Everyone raves when they see Lolita “walk on water”.

Golden Dome Sea Lion Show: If you ever had the desire to see a sea lion up close and personal then this show will give you that pleasure. The sea lions are athletic and even comical in the stunts they perform.

There are also many unique presentations that will fill your day with exciting adventures such as the Shark Channel Presentation. Here you can watch as the animal care specialists feed these 200 pound sharks while giving you all the information you need to understand which ones are from what species and where they live in the world.

The Tropical Reef Aquarium may be one of the most popular presentations at Miami Sea Aquarium. It is a 750,000 gallon saltwater aquarium which has beautiful and gorgeous reef fish of every color, size and type. You will be able to imagine yourself under the sea as you watch a diver hand feed the various fish such as colorful tropical fish, large groupers, cobia, loggerhead turtles and moray eels.

The Manatee may be an endangered species, but they are treated very well at the Miami Sea Aquarium. This may be your only chance to see one of these rare animals.
